introduction/This series of monoprints were made in Castiglion Fiorentino, Tuscany, Italy, under the direction of artist Rick Woodbury. Lacking the steady hand of a painter or sculptor, I opted for a more primitive approach, letting broad, quick strokes of paint become more dominant than the etchings beneath. The overall series was a study in contrasts; paint vs. etching, chaos vs. order.
