introduction/Conceptual space study analyzing complex urban spaces within the medieval city of Castiglion Fiorentino, Tuscany, Italy. Castiglion Fiorentino is a city that has its foundings in the Etruscan culture, thus the city was founded on a hill. It was during the the Middle Ages the city grew under Roman influenced Tuscans, and the walled city experienced today was built. Narrow streets, narrower streets, stais, arches, ramps, walls, and gardens all intercede upon one another to create a unique urban environment.

execution/Groups were tasked to find the most complex, most dynamic public space in the city. The space my group found was on Via Rosa, where an uphill path converged on the narrow street. We then measured, made sketches, and modeled a 20 x 20 x 20 meter cube of the space. Group members: Charles Rich Ean, Jose Hilario, and Yulia Ivanova.

image gallery/The first three images are photographs from our chosen site. The second row (as well as the first image on the third row) are images of the scale model built by our group. Scale model was displayed on a light table for effect. The third row (the last two images) are photographs of the scale model on a detail level, and the final image is an abstraction of the detail image.
